She lent her voice to those who would be silenced. If you thought you needed help, she was there. Now the time, unfortunately, has come to turn to others to help with her funeral expenses. In the last few days of her life, she experienced hurt and suffering from a system she though was meant to help her. She was abandoned by those who could have helped bring comfort to her final hours on earth. After being subjected to the indignities she was forced to endure, she passed away unexpectedly and alone on May 22,2023. After coming home from work, her sister found her in the hotel room they shared. In the hours that followed, her sister worked tirelessly to restore dignity by attempting to give her sister a proper burial. She was met with the same indifference and the same callous attitude by a funeral home that was unwilling to provide any assistance, guidance or support. Fortunately, a team of caring funeral professionals assembled to honor the memory of Deanne. Midtown Funeral Home and Cremation Options will provide all that is necessary so that Deanne can be properly laid to rest. This Go Fund Me account is being established to offset some of the expenses. Everything else (involving her funeral) has been provided through the assembly of this funeral home as well as another funeral company that understands compassion and dignity is not a retail endeavor but rather an expression of gratitude. We are grateful and honored to help people from all walks of life. This includes the delicate souls of our brothers and sisters who might not have the resources, but who most certainly have our respect-a respect gifted to the world through the generosity and care they shown others while they were alive. It is now our duty to continue their spirit of generosity in all deeds, small or large.

OBITUARY

Deanne Armant was born in Chicago, Illinois. She attended Corpus Christie, St Thomas High School and Truman College. Being reared by a determined and fearless mother and an ever more fearless and determined grandmother, her quest for justice was bolstered by steely determination. In her youth, she demonstrated for the poor in Chicago to obtain health care and for justice for victims of domestic violence and to stand up for the rights of impoverished youth. If she thought you needed help, she was there. She lent her voice to those who would be silenced. Deanne embraced art and literature-she loved and was very knowledgeable regarding architecture, theatre, movies, history and opera. On May 22, 2023, she joined the path of angels. Services will be private. To assist in her final arrangements, the family has started a GOFUND ME page. Please follow this link to contribute: gofund.me/af018f8f.
