OBITUARY
Milagros De La Rosa, age 67, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 1, 2025 at Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago.
Devoted wife and partner to Cesar De La Rosa. A wonderful daughter to Eduardo and Margarita Figueroa. Loving mother of 3 children - Jessica, Cesar, and David. Beloved sister to 4 siblings - Eduardo, Cesar, Nilda, and Nelida. Accomplished mentor to countless colleagues, friends, and family.
These words hardly summarize the life and reach of Milagros De La Rosa. She was a larger-than-life figure who brought joy and happiness wherever she went. In times of darkness and uncertainty she was a shining light of positivity and guidance who would advise those around her to never give up and never lose hope.
From an early age Milagros learned to depend not on the charity of others, but on herself. She left home in her early teens to find her freedom and pave her own path in the world. Her independence and strength was an inspiration to her entire family, and a constant throughout her life. Yet despite her independence, she still valued and absorbed knowledge from those around her. She partied with her friends and established relationships that would last her entire life. She worked tirelessly in her chosen field of advertising and was admired and respected for her expertise, earning her the ability to travel and meet people of all backgrounds and see the wonders of the world. She loved her entire family with all her heart and fostered a loving and safe space for her children to grow up under her wings.
Milagros instilled in her children a passion for reading and learning at a young age. She was a doting wife and gave unwavering support to her husband Cesar, and together they built a home that emphasized the values of hard work and education. Her work ethic and passion for excellence still lives on in her children and could be felt by anyone who entered a room with her. Her siblings felt confident knowing Milagros would analyze any situation and provide the support to ensure the best possible outcome for them.
Even later in life, Milagros spent her days caring for those around her. She was a caregiver for both her mother and father and balanced her familial duties with her professional responsibilities. She gave to charity, served on numerous school boards, and was very active in her community. Even when diagnosed with a debilitating illness, her sole focus was the comfort of her children, and the spreading of happiness and joy to those worried about her. She was truly a wonderful soul and will not be forgotten.
Milagros was grateful to everyone who enriched her life with their presence. She spoke constantly about how lucky she was to live the full life that she led. Even in the throes of pain, she praised her nurses and doctors and would smile and make jokes when they entered the room. She was eternally grateful to the healthcare professionals by her side, her family and friends who came to visit her every day with gifts and words of support, and to God for allowing her to experience such a wonderful and exciting life. She will be dearly missed.
We love you Mom. We can't wait to see you again.
