OBITUARY

Duong Hong Pham, a pillar of strength and resilience, left this world suddenly on March 17, 2025, at the age of 62. Born on September 13, 1962, in Go Cong, Vietnam, he embarked on a journey to the United States at just 19 years old, where he forged a remarkable life through determination and hard work.

Duong's story is one of self-made success. He taught himself to read and write, and through his time at Job Corp, he developed a career in welding. It was during this period that he met a friend who introduced him to his future wife, Le Kim Phan. In a testament to his commitment and respect for tradition, he traveled across the country to ask her grandfather for her hand in marriage. Together, they shared 40 years of love and built a family that includes three beautiful children, Diana, Delcie, and Derrick, and three cherished grandchildren, Juvencio Nathan Lopez, Imani Diana Rios, and Joseph Lewis Abdoh.

Duong was a man of many talents and passions. He was known for his frugal nature, often enjoying the thrill of bargaining at flea markets. His love for socializing and engaging in conversations with friends and family was matched only by his enthusiasm for karaoke, a hobby that brought him immense joy. Each year, he would take his family on memorable road trips across the states, with Mississippi being a special destination where his wife's family resides.

As a devoted family man and diligent worker, Duong never missed a day of work, whether at his job or at home. His autodidactic nature allowed him to master various skills, from plumbing and electrical work to drywalling and woodwork, all without the aid of modern technology. His constant quest for projects and his ability to fix anything on his own were traits that inspired those around him.

Duong's legacy is not just in the structures he built or the skills he mastered but in the love and values he instilled in his family. His memory will continue to guide and inspire his loved ones as they carry on his legacy.

Visitation will be held on Monday, March 24, 2025, from 2-8 pm at Midtown Funeral Home and Cremation Options, located at 3918 W. Irving Park Road, Chicago. The funeral service will take place on Monday, March 25, at 9:00 am in the chapel, followed by interment at Rosehill Cemetery. The family is grateful for your support and kindly requests that no monetary or floral tributes be made.

Rest in peace, Duong Hong Pham. Your love, wisdom, and legacy will forever be cherished by those who knew you.
