OBITUARY
Binh Nguyen, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away on March 24, 2023 at the age of 80.
Binh was born on June 6, 1942 in Tuy Hoa, Vietnam. He was a curious scholar, who loved reading history and writing poetry. After his release from the Re-education camp, he left Vietnam and then immigrated to America in 1981. Binh worked and attended Devry Institute of Technology. Upon graduating, Binh was employed as an electrical technician for a few years, then started his own general contractor business, while devoting his time to sponsoring his wife and children to come to the US.
Binh is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Thuy Vo Nguyen, and his five children, Thach, Thuc, Tran, Thac and Tram, and his eight grandchildren (Philip, Harry, Alice, Sam, Minh-An, Aurora, Donna, and Diane). Binh is also survived by his sister, Kien Nguyen and brother, Tim Viet Nguyen. Binh will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Because of his love of learning, Binh was passionate about giving back to the community. He firmly believed that every child should have access to books and the opportunity to learn, so he dedicated his time to supporting this cause. In lieu of flowers and gifts, please consider making a donation directly to the Childrens Library International, childrenslibraryinternational.org, in Binh’s name.
The funeral service will be at Midtown Funeral Home, 3918 W Irving Park Rd, Chicago, IL 60618 on Thursday March 30, 2023 and Friday March 31, 2023.
