I will always remember helping you pick out little bugs from the vegetables you bought at the local farmers market. And I will cherish the memory of the many bedtime stories you told to send me into the land of dreams. The nights will feel a little less warm without you around. Love you Grandma. All the kisses.

Our sweet grandma took care of us in Taiwan when we were little. She taught us our first English phrases and took us anywhere we wanted and cooked Neineimien for Meme every single day.

Everything she did was perfect. We loved our Taiwanese home, it was always pretty and tidy, her cooking was perfect in taste and presentation and she was always beautifully dressed with perfectly styled hair. When she got older already 80+ years old here in Chicago it took her up to two hours to get ready to go shopping with us, only for a touch of red lipstick and a floor-length dark coat. She looked just perfectly cute.

She was very strong willed, bright and sharp and wickedly funny. She was up for anything, always curious, open and courageous, adventurous and loved to travel. Our grandmother was also very cheeky and loved to drink Coke on flights when Dada was asleep, which she was not supposed to do for health reasons. When Dada caught her, she ordered red wine, clearly annoyed. She was also not supposed to tip the wheelchair service agents at airports, so she hid the bill in her hand and slipped it to them discreetly while shaking hands to say goodbye. Most of the time, they were so surprised by her cheeky finesse that they could not hide their delight. Wherever she was, she always won people over with her captivating smile and her sweet and polite "Hi, nice to meet you!".

She was of a genuinely caring nature, devoted to her children and grandchildren. Thank you Auntie Lydia and Uncle Juan for taking such good care of her and teasing her for laughter and happiness.

You will be dearly missed, Neinei! We are with you with our hearts!

In loving memory,

Meme and Dada
