I was very heartbroken to hear about Selene. I was a former colleague of hers from Takeda. She was the nicest and most positive person to be around. She will be truly missed. What an amazing person. I'm so sorry for your loss. Your family will be in our thoughts.

I’ve maintained a friendship with my elementary school friends and a few of us attended Lane Tech high school. I had the opportunity of meeting Selene my Sophomore year, as we were both art majors. We were thrilled to discover when we were assigned classes together. However, the instructors quickly learned seating us next to one another was a disruption to the rest of the class, as our non-stop chatter and laughter was a challenge to contain. Selene became a part of my closest circle of childhood friends.
We’ve maintained that connection through many of life’s ups & downs, including our weddings, growing families, and a sisterhood that continues to this day.
Although I did not have the opportunity to connect with Selene as much as I would have preferred during these past few years, I will always love and cherish the various beautiful memories we share. ❤️❤️❤️

I am deeply saddened by the horrible news. It is truly heartbreaking that we lost such a stunning person. I can still hear her wonderful and amazing laughters….. I worked in Selene’s team at Takeda and a great privilege to work for such a wonderful boss like her. I witnessed how tough she was and how positive she was when she fought again cancer. She always brought joy to any crowds she was around. She was a lovely woman and will be treated missed. My deepest sympathies go out to you and your family!

Everyone that your wife Selene touched will fondly remember her. She loved everyone. We will all remember her fondly. I sent you the song El dia que yo me muere because it is a happy song for us to remember her from. It is by Rozalene. She is Spanish like our grandfather was . I remember how she took care of your Dad and that made me love her all the more. She had to have the patience of Job with him. Think that this is not goodbye but until we meet again. Know that you can call me anytime. Your cousin Rose.

No person, to this day can percolate like she could.
With heavy heart.
