We are shocked and saddened by this tragic loss. Selene was a great friend, a great colleague while we worked at Baxter, and an all-around nice, generous, fun and smart person. She could light up a room with her sharp wit and detailed knowledge... and her dance. She was an excellent speaker, project manager, and just great overall professional.

On January 6, 2023, my world was shaken, as I lost one of my closest childhood friends. Selene lit up any room or conversation with her infectious energy and zest for life. To say she will be very missed by her family and friends, is an understatement.

I’ve maintained a friendship with my elementary school friends and a few of us attended Lane Tech high school. I had the opportunity of meeting Selene my Sophomore year, as we were both art majors. We were thrilled to discover when we were assigned classes together. However, the instructors quickly learned seating us next to one another was a disruption to the rest of the class, as our non-stop chatter and laughter was a challenge to contain. Selene became a part of my closest circle of childhood friends.

We’ve maintained that connection through many of life’s ups & downs, including our weddings, growing families, and a sisterhood that continues to this day.
Although I did not have the opportunity to connect with Selene as much as I would have preferred during these past few years, I will always love and cherish the various beautiful memories we share. ❤️❤️❤️
