OBITUARY

Born in Guerrero, Mexico, to Efren and Juliana Salgado, Andres was a man of immense courage, vision, and strength. As a young man, he made the brave decision to leave his homeland and immigrate to the United States in search of a new life, greater opportunities, and a brighter future for the family he dreamed of building.
Andres lived a life marked by resilience, quiet strength, and unwavering devotion to those he loved. Arriving in Chicago as a young man, he built a life from the ground up through sheer determination and sacrifice. He taught his children the values of hard work, family, and staying true to one's roots.
Known for his contagious laugh and generous spirit, Andres was always the first to offer a helping hand whenever someone in his life needed support. He was a passionate Chivas soccer fan, an avid drummer, and a talented DIY craftsman who saw potential in everything, constantly repurposing materials into new creations. Nothing brought him greater joy than being a grandfather, buying his trozos chocolate cake pops, sharing a good laugh, or relaxing with a handful of peanuts while watching a soccer game.
His legacy lives on through his wife, Angelica Salgado; his children, Andres Jr., Andrea, and Angel; his beloved grandchildren; Esmeralda and Ruby, and a community of friends and family who were better for knowing him.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 30th from 4PM to 8PM.

Dad always loved bright energy and requested that no one wear black to his service. Please wear your favorite colors or standard attire—anything except black—to help us honor his wish and celebrate his memory.

Midtown Funeral Home and Cremation Options, 3918 West Irving Park Rd., Chicago.
