Jason Bradley Ward, 58, of Chicago, Illinois, passed on Wednesday, October 25, 2023, in Chicago. He was preceded in death by his mother, Sonja Rae, his father, Richard Ward, and his stepfather, Jack Hogan. He was the brother of Scott (Karen) Ward and Derek Ward, and stepbrother of Julie (Allison) Hogan and Steve (Angie) Hogan. He was an uncle to Mark Ward and Heather Ward. His aunts and uncles included Doug and Mary Jo Ward, Jim and Pat Richards, Gordon (d.) and Irene (d.) Stokstad, Kenneth (d.) and Virginia (d.) Johnson, and Albert (d.) and Marlyn Sicotte. His grandparents were Clarence (d.) and Dorothy (Cody) (d.) Ward, and Raymond (d.) and Ethel (Fiedler) (d.) Stokstad. Jason was born on January 9, 1965, to Richard and Sonja Rae Ward in Chicago, Illinois. As an adult, Jason briefly lived in New York City, but he soon returned home to Chicago. He spent most of his life living in the Chicago area, mostly in the neighborhoods on the north side of Chicago near Lake Michigan. Jason took after his mother through his interest in the arts and fashion. He took after his father through his interest and ability in dealing with people. He combined his interests with a long career in retail, as well as some part-time interior design projects. Jason attended the Harrington Institute of Interior Design. At different times he worked for such retail giants as Marshall Field's, Saks Fifth Avenue, Bloomingdale's, and Nieman Marcus, in Chicago, and Macy's in New York. The retail environment fit him well because he enjoyed building relationships with people, and he excelled at it.
