As someone who lives far from my family, anything like a text out of nowhere means a great deal to me. And that was Nam for me.

Every year on my birthday, I could count on him to text me a “happy birthday” and ask how I’m doing. And he wouldn’t just send a message on birthdays either, but also on the holidays.

He may not realize it but that meant a lot to me. He was a reminder that I have a cousin out there who still thinks of me. He was a person whose small but consistent actions can leave the most heartwarming impact. He was a really good and thoughtful person.

I imagine Nam was like an older brother figure to not just me but also to many loved ones around him. His cheerful presence will be missed dearly.

Nam, you have and will always be loved. May he rest in peace.
