OBITUARY

Joseph W. Poelsterl, 67, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, October 27th, 2023, after his battle with pancreatic cancer.

Joe was born on September 8th, 1956, in Chicago, IL to Kathleen and Joseph Poelsterl. He worked for the Chicago Park District as a Trades Coordinator for 33 ½ years, retiring in 2013, and started his Focal Point Home Inspection business in 2009, retiring from his business after his diagnosis.

Joe was the beloved husband for 24 years to Margaret "Peggy" (Barrett), father of Cathy (Luke) Simonson, Joe (Cassidy), Mike (Monika), Krissi, and Mattie, brother to the late James and Steven Poelsterl, and grandfather to Mary, Luke, Hannah, Robert, Gwendolyn, Genevieve, Jack, Amelia, Michael, Joey, Charlotte, Bridgette, and Violette, and uncle to many nieces and nephews.

Joe was a true family man, friendly to all, and a mentor to many. If you knew Joe, you could count on a story; he made connections with everyone he met and was a great conversationalist. He had passions for Scouting, camping, and traveling, especially with one of his many RVs. His legacy lives on through his children and grandchildren.

Visitation Tuesday October 31, 3-8 pm at MIDTOWN FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATION OPTIONS, 3918 West Irving Park Road, Chicago. Funeral Wednesday November 1, 10:00 am Queen of Angels Church. Interment All Saints Cemetery.

May you now rest in solemn eternal peace my old friend. Your passion for everything you believed in and cared for was a testament for your existence and a wonderful example for all of us that have had the pleasure of knowing and loving you.....

I am very sorry for your loss and I’m sorry I am unable to make it in person. He was a great man who was friends with my father and family for a long time. He will be missed.
